Now Playing Tracks

This thought just occurred to me:

Obviously Bioware went to Tumblr to check out Mass Effect stuff for the Citadel DLC. We can assume this because they made Tali a Tumblr user, and a lot of stuff discussed on Tumblr was brought up there.

They also gave Zaeed a line where he tells Shepard he always thought she was beautiful.

They likely searched each character’s tag on Tumblr.

And being that Anne and I usually make up the majority of the Zaeed tag…

YOU’RE WELCOME, MASS EFFECT FANDOM.

Personal Headcanon:

When Kasumi runs into Shepard in the Citadel DLC, what Shepard says doesn’t matter. ‘Take a walk, guys’ is Kasumi’s code for ‘go on without me’. By the time Shepard walked away, the heist was already pulled off.

Gonna go submit this to a headcanon blog :D

New Shepard time! (Because goddamn this series keeps pulling me back)

Reva Shepard, Colonist War Hero Engineer of Indian descent. Is good with a gun, great with mechanics, and even better with diplomacy and (let’s face it) manipulation. She wants to do as much good as she can in the galaxy and protect others from the fate her colony suffered. However, she generally believes people who do a certain amount of evil are irredeemable, and will not flinch to kill those she believes need to be killed. For this reason, she chose to save Ashley at Virmire; she felt Kaidan, while a good man and a good soldier, was too soft-hearted for what was to come.

She believes in peace and serenity of the soul, and tries to keep herself centered via meditation and softly singing old songs her mother sang for her (in the privacy of her quarters, of course). She has quite the amount of inner turmoil, as most Shepards do, but also like many Shepards, she does her best to keep it from the crew, knowing that she must put on a strong façade.

Reva is not anti-alien by any means, but it was aliens that attacked her colony, and she knows that many of them dislike humans, so she tends to be on guard around them. If they can prove themselves trustworthy, than she is more than happy to fight alongside them and call them her friends, but in general, she is wary of aliens upon first meeting.

She is also generally distrustful of the Council, and any other large government bodies, human or otherwise, because she understands the necessity of and the value in keeping things from the general public, or gently manipulating situations for the greater good (this is why she begrudgingly suggested Udina as the human Council member). Regardless, she understands the need for the Council and how their relationship with humanity is important to the fragile state of the current galactic landscape, so she made sure to save them during Saren’s attack on the Citadel.

garrus and jd john at sacred heart memorial hospital on the citadel

also zaeed is dr. cox ok nobody can stop me

if mass effect took place in huerta memorial and was about the idle daydreams of john shepard, with guest appearances by his best friend garrus ‘turkleton’ vakarian

james vega shows up now and then—he is the todd. he wears banana hammocks. you know it’s true.

kaidan alenko is the neurotic but charming doctor elliot reid. tali’zorah vas normandy is nurse carla. and zaeed massani is dr. cox.

meanwhile, in john d. shepard’s rich fantasy life/vivid daydreams, he’s hero of the galaxy—super shepard—battling off reapers and the wicked yet illusive dr. TIM kelso…

with the mega hit musical episode, rocketing ‘guy love’ (as sung by garrus and shepard) to the top of the charts.

AND ARIA AS JORDAN, DR. COX’S EX-WIFE.

I’ve seen a lot of people criticize Thanemancers because romancing him disrespects Irikah and their relationship. I think they are missing a lot of points. Thane’s backstory is not about tragedy that struck him. Thane is not a victim, he’s a traitor. He betrayed Irikah by becoming an assassin again, which she was clearly against. He stopped being a part of his family’s life and all but abandoned them. The tragedy of Thane’s life is his fault, not just some hand dealt by fate. And he takes full responsibility for it, after it’s too late.

So I think it’s safe to say that Thane was dead to Irikah long before she died. He wasn’t the same man she loved, and he never would be. There could never be a happy ending for Thane and Irikah, and frankly, I firmly believe she would have been better off without him. And I’m sure she realized that towards the end, as well.
